All Trilliums on our list at the moment are American. The genus Trillium is so named because they produce three leaves, three sepals and three petals. Plants will thrive in a deep rich soil with filtered shade and are ideal for the woodland garden. Generally Trilliums take a year or so to settle, but in time mature into handsome clumps which merit a special space in the garden. The large leaves can be green or marbled with elegant flowers that bloom in April/May. We stock a variety of species including a few dwarf forms which grow up to 10 - 15 cm. these will be happy planted in a shady raised bed or trough.
